Matheus Simoes is the founder of Lumen Capital. He built the firm on a single conviction: that serious capital deserves serious care, and that what protects wealth across decades is rarely the next opportunity. It is structure, governance, and clarity.
He leads the firm's cross-border work between the United States and Latin America, across structured credit, private market investments, capital advisory, and financial engineering. His focus is to align each structure to the counterparty's mandate, risk parameters, and horizon, rather than fitting a counterparty to a product.
Based in Miami, he works with qualified investors, family offices, and institutional counterparties for whom documentation discipline and discretion are not negotiable.
Lumen Capital is supported by an extended network of qualified counsel, audit and tax advisors, and execution partners. Each engagement is staffed and resourced according to its specific requirements.
Matheus Simoes built his career in financial markets between Brazil and the United States. Daily contact with sophisticated clients revealed a demand that went beyond any single product: international structure, accounts across jurisdictions, and access to transactions with governance. He founded Lumen Capital to serve that demand completely and independently.
Began civil engineering in the interior of São Paulo, with an exchange year at a Portuguese engineering faculty in 2017.

In the strategy area of a Brazilian bank, supporting strategic management projects with research, data analysis and reporting for the senior strategists.
Bachelor of International Business, with a concentration in accounting and finance, and the start at a Swiss investment group working across actively managed certificates, structured notes and private equity funds. Business development in Brazil, serving private clients and institutional partners.

Principal responsible for connecting the parties to a Brazilian fixed income fund with offshore investment, in partnership with that group, and incorporation of Lumen Capital Partners Ltd in the British Virgin Islands.
In partnership with a Swiss investment group, Matheus was the principal responsible for connecting the parties to a Brazilian fixed income fund with offshore investment, regulated by the Brazilian securities commission.
Every engagement is led by a principal from the first conversation through execution and long-term relationship management. The leadership remains directly reachable for qualified counterparties and institutional partners.
